    Q: Top 6, bottom 3 predictions? Q: Are Tottenham fans quiet? Admittedly, I haven't been to a game since my teens; even then, however, I used to get frustrated with how passive some fans were, sometimes even when playing well. You can't always get a real feel for the atmosphere on TV - so, are the fans doing their bit?

    Q&A Questions 1. Who would you like Spurs to bring in for that attacking midfielder/winger position? 2. Looking at the games you have watched during pre season do you think Spurs have evolved or changed certain aspects from Ange’s first season? Just a quick comment on the squad numbers. Both systems don’t seem to benefit teams who produce talent and bring it into their first team. Weren’t these systems designed to protect home grown players from clubs just filling teams with foreign players. But it seems it doesn’t do that. With Skipp having to stay just to fulfill a quota.

    Quick question. Similar to how Arsenal put Saliba on their squad list to make him considered a homegrown player. Could Tottenham do the same thing with Matthew Craig for their Europa league squad despite being alone at Barnsley, if they can do that, that’s another club player

    Q&A Hi Ali, quick one for the q&a, feel like a lot of the fans were coming into the season expecting a lot of variety regarding players in the Europa League, do you see the squad restrictions causing discontent among the squad with those that expected minutes and now wont get them? Also, do we re-submit the squad after the group stage or is the initial squad the one you commit to for the entire tournament, to maybe include some players that were initially left out? Unfortunately looks like an issue that won't be fixed for a few years to come

    When we signed Maddison one of the doubts I had imo was that he was one of those players who could be really good or not in the mood and disappear from the game. I was happily wrong when he started the season but since he has returned from injury I thought he needed time to recover game fitness but I am running out of excuses for him now and at 27 he should be at his peak now but I only feel worried that he won't get any better only more of the same followed by a slow decline. I really hope I'm wrong. Bisouma is another player similar to Maddison who made a long awaited burst of the form we bought him for also at the start of last season and also has not continued that after a self inflicted absence. All doesn't look as good in North London and I could go on but I won't depress myself anymore and as usual hope for the best. COYS

    I like you Ali but come on, You can't count Solankes last 72 goals because the vast majority came in the Championship. He also completely went missing last season against top six. Why can't Spurs Journos and UA-camrs just be realistic and honest. I'll get behind Solanke, but factor in also that nearly half his goals last season were headed goals. Spurs have no one who can cross the ball. Solanke is an underwhelming signing. Just like Werner and Johnson. Ange says he wants to challenge for the league, and then signs Johnson Werner Kulu and now Solanke. Its probably a top 6 or 7 attack that's it. Eze Son Neto would have been a much more exciiting front three. This is a typical Spurs transfer window. It's not a coincidence that Spurs don't build a squad to challenge or win anything.

    • @AlasdairGoldjournalist
      @AlasdairGoldjournalist 2 дні тому

      Feels a bit harsh to remove goals from being counted because they were in a different league. Toney's best recent season was also in the Championship but that didn't stop him being called for.

      Spot on Fella. Spurs journos will never call out the club for its shortcomings so I don’t think this is the right place for looking at everything objectively. This is a space for those that want the good news and little bts bits which it’s great for. Hard to smile as a fan who is watching other clubs strengthen while we dance around taking months to sign one player. It’s gonna be a very long season we’re gonna be battling for a top 7 position at best in my opinion.

      @@AlasdairGoldjournalist But Ali come on, It's time to start calling the club out for what it is. It's a Money making tool for Levy and Enic. We don't sign any top players. Every transfer window is depressing. I like Solanke and I hope he does well, but it's not harsh to not count championship goals because elite sport is all about levels. Joe Rodon is a top quality championship defender, but he can't cut it at Premier League level. Therefore, Solankes championship goals done mean anything. Also, to spend £40 million on a championship player is insane! Bellingham only cost £15 million when he left the championship for Dortmund. We could have spent 15 million more and got Neto. I'd rather 25 games per season of Neto than 40 games of Johnson. Spurs transfer window as always, has been underwhelming and depressing. #Mocked every day for being as Spurs fan. That said, Love what you do Ali. Enjoy the videos. Keep up the good work mate 👍🏽

    Hi Al I don't know what you think but aren't we getting rid of more players than we are signing up? Yes some players are surplus to requirements but apart from Solanke we have brought in young players who are not at the level of the ones leaving. And yet again the players are coming in a week before the start of the season! This is the old way of doing things coming back in. We are putting ourselves at a disadvantage at the beginning. It's not the way a top club should be doing things . As it is we are getting players in late because of the Euros and Olympics. When will we ever learn our lesson? Selling squad players before getting replacements at this late stage puts us at a disadvantage as we don't have the time to buy players with the right mindset and more likely to overpay for them as we put ourselves at a disadvantage and the selling club know it! We keep doing the same thing year after year! All we need is some bad luck with injuries or suspension and we will be short of first team players in key positions! Am I wrong?

    We won the 2nd half with 1-0. But still, the way we don't mark the 2 opponents on the far post..., it's concerning. Also, Biss should know how important it is to meet Vic's central pass, that Djed misses is forgiveable since he is new and off pos (1st Bayern match), but Biss should know.

I have watched the FourFourTwo videos on Solanke and Gray with what they can bring to Tottenham and I am really excited. I am hoping we get off to a strong start and see where things go. Have to keep Devine, Lankshear, Donley and Moore for cup games rather than them go out on loan. Sorry to see Scarlett go out on loan, but I suppose with Richarlison, Solanke and Lankshear then who will get game time. Good luck to Dane at Oxford in the championship. Hope he gets plenty of minutes. TTID!!! COYS!!! In Ange We Trust. One question I have got, if Reguilon leaves then who will come in at LB or LCB to cover Udogie if he gets injured?

    I have a couple questions Ali: 1. Why has the club remained silent about Lo Celso’s and Romero’s active presence in Enzo Fernandez’ stream of team Argentina’s racist and homophobic chant? I ask because it is obvious that the club is aware of its players social media presence as evidenced by the Bissouma situation. 2. With regards to players like Reguilon, who’s decision is it to banish the player between the player and the club? 3. What is the development plan for Ashley Phillips? 4. Will Luka Vuskovich count as club trained/homegrown when he becomes a first team player? 5. Considering the significant financial outlay on Brennan Johnson, should we have seen more from him over pre-season? 6. What is going on with James Maddison? He doesn’t seem to have recovered form even over preseason 7. Do we still need players like Eze and/or Ramsey and if so, could we expect outgoings in the midfield? If so, who would leave? 8. Was Pedro Neto not interested in joining Spurs? Not sure why he would join a club like Chelsea with loads of wingers when it looks like he would have gotten plenty of opportunities at Spurs (especially considering Johnson’s form so far) 9. Who starts at RCB for the first game of the season for you between Romero and Dragusin? 10. Who do you expect to have the greatest leap this year between Udogie, Sarr, and Van de Ven? Also, Happy Belated Birthday!!

    Very excited for the new season, hope you had a good birthday and trip to Italy Ali. For your Q&A, Ange recently did a video talking about the season ahead. He was asked a question regarding what his expectations are for Spurs to which he replied saying there is no limit to what the team can achieve but no expectations. Do you think this approach is going to install that winning mentality in the players, or do you think behind the scenes he is setting the players targets involving silverware? Hope you’re well

    The so-called Angeball is now being found out by other teams. Look at the goals conceded. It's junior school football. With no number 6 to batten down that defence, we will be conceding 60 goals, plus this season again. It's suicidal football, and he will be facing the sack.

    No one's saying you should sell Richarlison and not buy another striker!!! This is a straw man. The money you can get by selling Richarlison far exceeds his ability and his actual value for the club. You SELL Richarlison, then buy a 'backup' striker, and STILL have money to spare.

      Obviously, there's nothing you can do if he doesn't want to go, I understand that. I was talking about the point you made about Spurs needing two strikers. Anyone that would've liked to have seen Richaelison sold wanted the money to be used to buy another striker AND possibly use the funds to buy another useful player. @AlasdairGoldjournalist

    • @shams3831
      @shams3831 3 дні тому

      Richarlison is the club's RECORD signing. He's the third best striker at the club. If we can get the money we paid for him back, that would be fantastic. He's got a great attitude, good guy. Yes we need two strikers, but having two 60m strikers does not make sense.

  • @shams3831
    @shams3831 3 дні тому

    Yes, it is great that Richarlison wants to fight for his place. However, Solanke is better than Richarlison. Better goalscorer, better linkup, better at pressing. Richarlison would be sold for 50-60m. If Richarlison is sold for that amount, then you can use the money to buy a new striker who is around Richarlison's level for a fraction of the money he was bought for, AND use the rest of the money to buy a left back or a winger. Wahi, a striker who is better than Richarlison, was sold for 25m today. Not saying Spurs should've signed Wahi, but 60m for Richarlison was insane and it still is. Need to cash in if possible.

  • @fortae9
    @fortae9 3 дні тому

    I agree with the thought process in regards to a slow start due to the summer workload, time off and building momentum through the season to finish stronger. The fixture worked against the club with few opportunities for the squad early, just as the club was starting to move players out that didn’t fit the vision and trying to build strong foundations with the style of play. Then injuries and international duty put the remaining players under further strain and they all had to meet a brutal schedule to end the season. So while many thought more could have been done to turn over the squad, the balancing act was already tilting. The changes also mean that the squad was going to be significantly younger over the next year or so. Transfers have shifted to younger players more than ever which exacerbates a situation that Spurs had created for itself. Many of the experienced players did not fit into the style of play that Spurs wanted to return to and the synergy had been lost changing between various managers. It is really important to choose players wisely now. Solanke seems to fit better than most, giving the team a more settled look in first halves and hopefully less frustration against the low block. Then the chance to be more relentless in second halves with Werner, Richarlison and Johnson ready to press and harass. Alvarez or Beier would have been interesting for flexibility who could both play multiple forward positions. Eze might be ok, but I sometimes wonder whether Olise is really the player people are wanting and describing. I would be interested to know where Eze thinks he plays his best football because I have queries about the style of play that suits him. Doue would have been better than both but wanted to stay in France. Even when looking at quality individual players like Rodrigo and Lo Celso they have not only been struck by injury, but they were also the ones that needed the most time training to fit into the system. When they played together they ended up shifting the style and momentum, wanting more time on the ball and building up play differently. I would also say that Maddison has not returned to full confidence since his injury setback. Many won’t like what could feel and look like a step backwards but we seem to be in an era where at least 8 teams will be competing for 4 or 5 spots every year. The EPL might have 8 of the best 20 teams in Europe in reality. It will probably take another season to build the squad that can compete in the face of injury, misfortune and high levels of competition. The ultimate path and goal has to be finding a different, disruptive way to build a squad to win the EPL.

    #QandA Hey Ally. Hope you're doing well. Thanks for all your hard work! I was wondering, with players like Moore, being 17 years old and growing up through COVID, did the club have to make any special allowances to keep their youth teams developing? It seems that for established pros, missing out during the lockdown would not have been as impactful on their careers but I would have thought it can be quite damaging for others ages with development. Hey 👋 Ali , hope you enjoyed your holiday. Someone on other podcast said you were in Italy 🇮🇹. You came back a tad early though we still need a 6 and a winger . The former must be done we’re far far too open . Solanke signing decent I’m warming to it.

    What are you expectations for spurs season Ali? Our defensive issues still a worry - still leaking goal and brushed over a little easily by yourself in the vid. Vicario giving away two goals was a worry and same old set piece. We looked constantly open with a very narrow line, their wingers available every time. For me I think we place lower in the league as we won’t start as well as last year and hope we somehow win Europa league for champs league spot and a trophy. Even teams like West Ham could be a threat with their signings made. It seems to not be mentioned much how we have let go of hojberg who came on and steadied us so much last year - we needed a serious 6 like the top teams have and have just got worse in this area now I fear if no one comes in

      We have Bentancur and Gray in the no. 6 position. Not gonna miss Hojberg.
